Meet The Artist:

Roderick L. Brown

I began my life in art at a very early age with Marvel comics they were always there. I begin drawing from the comic books, copying every picture of Superman, Spiderman and all of the Fantastic Four, these were our childhood hero's. I remember in grade school I was dreaming about being an artist, I always thought about how I could make them come alive in my drawings. Growing up back in my day we made our own excitement and the way I did that was drawing. I created worlds outside of my neighborhood inside of my drawings on paper. As I grew up I always had art in my heart. In high school, I knew that somewhere in my life art would become more than just a dream, but a passion! I knew that I have to finish my education and create a life for myself, so I attended college for a few years and decided I wanted to serve my country. I joined the army and gave the country 20 years of my life, during this time, I met the most beautiful young lady who would introduce me to Christ, my future bride, Rhonda k. Brown. I then saw a vision as I entered the last years of my service. During that time I had begun to draw again and there is when my vision started I saw so much beauty in all of my travels that I could see all of this on canvas. So as time moved forward, I began to draw what I could see through my eyes and in my heart. And from there I begin to find pain, through all my beauty pain followed, so I went back to my drawing. My father, mother, brother, sister and uncle became ill within a 1 year period and my art grew stronger. My brother was my biggest fan, he made me sit down and find my joy. Rickey told me there was no joy without suffering.

And so my Vision began after my 1st drawing of Moses on the mountain with God himself. Exodus 33:17-23.My inspiration came and I am now on the path I believe God has for me in the way He has directed my path.

My life is God 1st, family 2nd and everything else is whatever God see's for my life.
